The Weatherford Library opened in 1974 in the R.V. Waldrep house.  It was moved into the old Medical Clinic in early 1980 while a new building was being constructed on the lot where the Waldrep house was torn down. Dr. Z.L. Weatherford donated $100,000 to construct the new library building. The Weatherford Library offers a variety of services including six computers for public use, along with a printer, copy machine and a fax machine. The Weatherford Library has approximately 12,000 fiction and non-fiction books as well as DVDs available for check-out. In addition to this they also have a reference section. Each summer the library is host to a Summer Reading Program, with programs each week during the month of June that regularly brings delight to the approximately 100 children who participate. Librarian Linda Ezzell has served the Weatherford Library since 2003. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  For more information, call 256-356-9255
